I create small handmade books using collage and found materials, each one like a small world—much like a locket containing a hidden universe. These zines vary in subject, from collaborative poetic works to my own intimate creations, and each one serves as a stand-alone, traveling piece of art. Just like my sketchbooks, the zines reflect my sense of place, based on historical research and my own sensations. These zines are meant to be shared and copied, and they are also meant to be sculptural pieces capable of being part of a larger space. My dream is to use my zines as the basis for larger works which take up whole rooms or outdoor areas, creating an interlocking reflection of miniature world and real world.
